The Documentary Center Sala Mendoza is a space that, since 1994, carries out an important cultural work focused on education and research. In the years of its creation there was not a center dedicated exclusively to the contemporary art in Venezuela, reason why this initiative meant a pertinent and important contribution for the society. Expanding the cultural dimension of the Sala Mendoza, all the material related to exhibitions since 1956, went from being closed documents to sources open to knowledge. In this way, a documentary memory has been forging for 20 years, which records the life of the Chamber, but also the evolution of the collective imagination and the creative activity of Venezuela.

The Centro Documental Sala Mendoza´s video art collection, digitized by nodoCCS´s research team, is available to researchers, artists and institutions that would like to access them for exhibition, educational or research purposes.

In the future, the nodoCCS Video Art Retrieval Project intends to contribute to the historical and theoretical research of Venezuelan and International Video Art by generating a series of initiatives that include generating texts, interviews, seminars and talks about the work in the collection and to create spaces for interchange and research in order to keep alive the link between renowned Venezuelan artists with the new generations to come.
